New Hopetoun Gardens - Edinburgh 8 hours ago Cracking Camellias😍 New Hopetoun Gardens - Edinburgh updated their cover photo. 13 hours ago New Hopetoun Gardens - Edinburgh is feeling disappointed. 4 days ago Our First Minister announced today that ‘she’s not sure her soul is quite as troubled as to take to the garden’ Comment on Facebook 3917948478264927 She has not got a soul or a bloody heart...Garden centres when open the last time...only let a number of people in at a time...and it worked ok...so it could work again....they are not going to do anything to get shut down if they were allowed to open...if the plants they have now are not planted soon they will have to be destroyed....I heard her today smirking ...about people who love there garden....all she loves is herself.... Really not acceptable, you get a better selection of plants and at the same time supporting local businesses. Really looking forward to visiting soon. Lucky her! The garden is the only thing keeping a lot of us sane! 🤨 TBH the whole assumption that people have access to a computer and the ability to use it really annoys me. They need to live in the real world Gutted!!! Wow! How just how out of touch is she with us mere mortals? There is no reason to keep garden centres closed as they bring so much joy and therapy to so many 1) Hopetoun garden centre is over 8 miles from my home so even though you do click and collect from your car park I’m not supposed to travel there during lockdown.
2) Gardening is vital for my mental and physical health, I feel as though a weight has been lifted as soon as I step into my garden.
3) The garden centre has had to destroy plants worth many thousands of pounds, jobs and the business must be at risk.
4) Hopetoun took great care to socially distance customers when they were last open.
I’m deeply saddened by Ms Sturgeon’s throwaway comment today and hope that she reconsiders the opening of garden centres soon. Saying that she didn’t mean it, it was just a joke, is verging on Donald Trump. Politicians must say what they mean, or mean what they say; how else are we supposed to hear the truth (ha, ha)! She has no soul! Garden Centre's are good for the mental health☀️🌻🌼🌺🌷⚘🌱🌳 No idea of anxiety and mental health. I have a vitamin D deficiency plus everything else. My garden gets me through the seasons. I miss my trips to you guys one of my weekly trips out of the house normally. 😓😓😎 For flips sake woman open the garden centres! This is not about YOU!!! 😡 Absolutely no valid reason to keep garden centres closed whatsoever and to joke and laugh when people’s businesses are at risk of ruin/collapse and the featured growers were looking at having to waste 100k worth of stock 😱🤬 Cheeky cow 🐮
Our Camellias are starting to burst into flower and what showstoppers those flowers are! To plant for success, give a sheltered position in well drained soil. Being acid lovers they‘re happy in Scottish ground but it does mean you’ll need ericaceous compost if planting in a pot. With Mother’s Day round the corner, they make for for a gorgeous gift too. We can pop it in one of these Mother’s Day pot covers for you. Just ask if you’re ordering by phone. ...
