Alstroemerias: it’s what you’re all asking for at the minute and they’re here!

Remember to give them full sun and ensure their roots can drain well, and, for a top tip to get the best from flowering: instead of removing individual dead flowers, wait until the whole cluster has gone over and grasp the stem at the base before gently pulling away from the plant. That way you get whole new flower stems to grow. Also good to know: they make for great cut flowers, long lived indoors.

Did you know that these green carry packs are fully recyclable from home?⚠️♻️

They’re made completely from recycled bottles (including the handles now) which means they can go in your domestic recycling bins for uplift. On this basis we kindly request that you don’t deposit them in our recycling bags which are purely for pots, packs etc that require specific treatment for their plastics to be used again. Thank you😊

Morag’s Milestone Marathon - 29 May🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

‘So I’m going to run a marathon for turning 50!’ Our Morag announced. ‘Oh right, want a biccie with your coffee?’ We said😁 That was 2 years ago before the pandemic put the brakes on any such aspiration. However, true to her word, she signed herself up for this year’s Edinburgh Marathon and so the training began! Naturally we’re sponsoring Morag as she wants to raise funds for charity from her challenge, choosing Perennial - Gardeners' Royal Benevolent Society. If you’re not familiar, they’re the only UK charity dedicated to helping people who work in horticulture (and their families) during their toughest times.
And, this is where we’d like to kindly ask for your support by sponsoring Morag at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/morag-macrae-nhg
It doesn’t matter how little you can donate. As Morag says on her page ‘every pound will spur me on a little bit more.’
Thank you for reading and please share if you can🙏

Introducing our Holly…
As many of you will know, we were so saddened to lose Rowan’s sister Willow back in February. We feel Rowan’s been missing Willow so decided to find him a new companion. Holly was given up along with her brother to Fife Cat Shelter however her brother had already been adopted when we discovered her. We relished the chance to provide her forever home. She’s 4 yrs old and a petite little lady with a very friendly nature and the softest coat. Holly’s settling in nicely and we hope it won’t be too long before you’re meeting her around the garden centre😺
