Our Saltire Bulb Pot Recipe

Saltire Pot

By planting muti-layers of bulbs, you create a great display and can spread it over many weeks.

Tip: Even if you want just one sort of bulb in your pot, you can still plant a couple of layers to get a really full and generous display.

We recommend a FROSTPROOF pot such as a terracotta Yorkshire Pot, or a glazed Errington Reay pot.

Use Arthur Bowers Multipurpose with added John Innes compost. Place a wigwam of broken crocks over the drainage hole to keep it open but stop the compost falling through it.

How Green is Your Garden?

No matter how well you keep your garden, there's one simple thing you can do to make it even greener. We are proud to announce our new recycling service for all those old, cracked or unwanted plastic pots and plant trays. And we know how many of you have sheds full of them, so next time you visit,  please just stack them neatly in the crate in front of the shop and we’ll pay to have them professionally recycled.

Judging by the number of pots we've already collected makes us wonder why other Garden Centres don't offer a service like this... Of course, you are very welcome to take any of the pots you find in the crate away with you. It's the best form of recycling - and it saves us money!
