PLANTS

The Garden Centre where plants come first!

We all love plants but we do curb our natural enthusiasm and only stock garden plants that will perform in Scotland and are really worth growing in our gardens.

Our plants are guaranteed to grow!

We are so confident in the quality of our plants that we will replace or refund any hardy garden plants that die within two years, so long as you have looked after them.

What plant to choose?

We hope to make your decisions easier and to ensure you go home with the best possible plant for your purposes.

Designer Collections

We have collections of plants for many different purposes. As well as being suitable for any particular purpose these lists contain plants that we can supply and which perform well in Scotland.

Grouping of plants in our Garden Plant Sales Area

We try to arrange the plants in logical groups, for example:

Patio Plants - Bedding and Patio Plants for seasonal changes and containers are grouped together under the west canopy

Alpine and Rockery Plants - By the Alpine bank and Alpine Trough displays

Shrubs - Arranged by size, small growing less than 3 feet, medium 3 - 6 feet, large growing taller than 6 feet.

Roses - We stock a wide range especially in Climbing & Rambling types and Shrub Roses

Herbs, salad, vegetable and berry fruit plants - Situated next to The Potager Garden

Hardy Perennials - This amazingly useful group of plants (ground covering, colour throughout the seasons, picking flowers, star performers) is arranged alphabetically as there are so many... we have a Top 50 list if you find selection a bit daunting! Water and Bog Loving perennials are grouped together

Clematis and climbing plants - Grouped together next to climbing roses

Plants that tolerate shade - Next to the Shady and Dry Border to help you solve a common problem in gardens.

The Scottish Collection - Including Heathers, Conifers, Rhododendrons, Azaleas, Pieris, Camellias, peat loving plants, Meconopsis and Primulas

Treasure Trove - For the unusual, plants available in small numbers and some that don't look good in the pot but perform wonderfully when planted in the garden.

Oriental Influence - You'll find the Japanese Maples, the Bamboos and the distinctively Oriental looking plants arranged around the Oriental Garden

Trees - A wide selection of garden trees is offered all year round with different varieties being highlighted at different times.

Fruit Trees - Chosen to perform well in Scotland and established in their pots so you can plant them at any time.
